Berkeley is a public university, 30 minutes away from San Francisco. Its name comes from George Berkeley, a bishop and philosopher. The buildings were erected by Jane Sather in 1909.
Contrary to Stanford, this university is not private but it costs a lot of money.
It is very big: 7.2 square miles, it has 35 students coming from the whole world ( 30% are Asian).
We interviewed a student who was very nice; she is 21, she is Japanese, she studies art history and would like to work in business or auctions. She lives in the campus, in an apartment and she loves this place!

Today we visited San Francisco; we woke up at 5.00 am and left the motel at 5.30.
First we went into a cable car; it was very funny!
Then we saw the famous orange Golden Gate Bridge; it is the most beautiful bridge I have ever seen!
After that, we had a walk in the Golden Gate Park which is so peaceful!
And we had a very pleasant cruise from The Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz.
We had a good lunch at "Boudin's"( pizza, taco, soup...).
Next we stayed a little bit in Fisherman's wharf to do some shopping and look at the seals ( phoques)and walked across Chinatown, the Financial district and Market Street; the skyscrapers were large and beautiful!
I think that day was extraordinary because I 've never seen such monuments!
